[News Culture] A new pop-up is giving Seoul fans a chance to step into the music and visual world of the Beatles.
“The Beatles Seoul Edition,” a retail experience dedicated to the legendary British band, opened Aug. 24 at Hyundai Department Store’s Trade Center branch in southern Seoul.
Hosted by Universal Music Korea in partnership with BIGC, the pop-up brings the Beatles’ global intellectual property into a physical retail space. Rather than presenting the band’s name as little more than a souvenir brand, the project combines music, iconic imagery and exclusive merchandise in a single experience.
Seoul-inspired products and content offer a fresh take on the familiar visual language of the Beatles. The space also includes photo zones built around classic album artwork and listening stations where visitors can explore the band’s music.
The event will travel to multiple locations. After its run at the Trade Center branch, the pop-up is scheduled to move to The Hyundai Seoul in Yeouido and then to Hyundai Department Store’s KINTEX branch, bringing the experience to audiences beyond a single venue.
The Beatles were formed in Liverpool in 1960 by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Songs such as “Yesterday” and “Let It Be,” along with landmark albums including Abbey Road, helped reshape the course of popular music.
Decades after the group ended its recording career, its music, album artwork and individual members remain enduring cultural icons around the world.
“The Beatles Seoul Edition” brings that legacy into a contemporary Seoul setting. Longtime fans can rediscover familiar music and imagery in a new format, while younger visitors have an opportunity to experience the Beatles’ cultural impact firsthand.
