[News Culture] Jang Seo-hee is returning to the revenge genre as a woman with a borrowed name, a buried past and unfinished business inside Cheongma Group.
Premiering Aug. 10, KBS2’s new daily drama 'A Trap Called Desire' follows a woman who loses everything after being framed for murder. She resurfaces as Ju Mi-ran and begins working as a nanny inside the conglomerate at the center of her carefully prepared plan.
New stills released ahead of the premiere offer a first look at Mi-ran’s encounter with Go Eun-seol, played by Jeon Hye-won.
Their paths cross through Kang Hae-ra (Joo Sae-byeok), but the meeting is anything but casual. Eun-seol greets Mi-ran with an open smile, unaware of who she really is. Mi-ran remains warm and composed while quietly sizing her up.
The tension comes from what only one of them knows. Eun-seol sees a stranger entering her everyday life. Mi-ran sees another piece of a plan that has been years in the making.
Her decision to enter Cheongma Group as a nanny sits at the center of the drama’s mystery. The identity she abandoned, the life taken from her and the real target of her revenge will be revealed as she moves deeper into the household.
Eun-seol, meanwhile, is set to pay the price for a history she does not yet understand. Her seemingly ordinary life begins to unravel after meeting Mi-ran, placing the two women on a collision course before either fully recognizes what is at stake.
The production team said the premiere will move quickly through the characters’ hidden connections and set off a series of unpredictable events. Jang and Jeon are expected to drive the drama from opposite sides of its central conflict.
'A Trap Called Desire' premieres Aug. 10 at 7:50 p.m. on KBS2.
