[News Culture] RESCENE have finally escaped the morning rush for a single bathroom. What they have not escaped is one another.
The five-member group will show viewers around their new dorm on the Aug. 8 episode of MBC’s “The Manager,” offering a glimpse of how life has changed since their music found a new wave of listeners.
The upgrade is hard to miss. Their former dorm had just one bathroom for all five members; the new place spans 99 pyeong, or about 3,500 square feet, and comes with three. It is so spacious that calling out from one end of the home no longer works, prompting the members to joke that they may need walkie-talkies.
The episode also takes viewers inside their individually decorated rooms and introduces a fresh set of house rules shaped by the move.
Yet privacy appears to be mostly theoretical. Even with a room of their own, the members keep drifting back to the same part of the house, talking and passing the evening together.
Their manager, Kim Hye-soo, watches the familiar scene unfold before declaring, “Once a lovebug, always a lovebug.”
The warmth extends beyond the group. An upstairs neighbor welcomed RESCENE with fruit and a handwritten note saying the members reminded her of her own daughters. Touched by the gesture, the members turned the gift into hwachae, a refreshing Korean fruit punch.
Minami provided one of the episode’s surprises. Better known for her playful “gyaru girl” image, she proved unexpectedly handy around the kitchen and quickly won over the other members.
The move captures RESCENE’s changing fortunes: more room, more comfort and a new chapter after their breakout on the charts. Still, the group’s center of gravity remains unchanged. Give them five bedrooms, and they will somehow find their way back into one.
RESCENE’s new dorm will be featured on “The Manager,” airing Aug. 8 at 11:10 p.m. KST on MBC.
