Episode 7 of the JTBC weekend drama, airing August 1, finds Park Hae-gang, played by Ji Sung, and Kang Ha-ri, played by Ha Yoon-kyung, sharing a quiet late-night moment in the middle of their search for 17.8 billion won in missing apartment maintenance reserves.
Newly released stills show Ha-ri sitting alone at an outdoor table, clutching a can of beer as tears run down her face. Usually quick-witted and self-assured, she finally allows the pressure she has been carrying to surface.
Hae-gang does not rush to fill the silence. Instead, he simply stays beside her, offering the kind of support that requires no grand speech. Their later walk through the apartment complex suggests that the arrangement they entered as a fake married couple may be developing into something neither of them expected.
The emotional shift comes as the drama’s central investigation grows more volatile. In the previous episode, Hae-gang regrouped the so-called “intermittent family” in an attempt to recover the missing funds. The situation became even more complicated when Ha-ri’s sister, Kang Ha-jung, played by Ryu Hyun-kyung, discovered that Ha-ri had once again agreed to pose as Hae-gang’s wife.
Episode 7 slows the chase long enough for Hae-gang and Ha-ri to speak more honestly about themselves. Ha-ri’s fear of failure begins to come into focus, while Hae-gang’s restrained concern reveals a gentler side that he has largely kept hidden.
The scene is expected to mark a turning point in their relationship, moving them beyond the practical terms of their arrangement and toward a deeper understanding of each other’s wounds.
According to the production team, Ha Yoon-kyung brought Ha-ri’s conflicting emotions to the surface without overplaying the moment, while Ji Sung relied on understated reactions to convey Hae-gang’s warmth. Their late-night shoot reportedly drew praise on set for its concentration and emotional precision.
