[News Culture] Rookie band Splayit is giving fans a first look at the music behind its official debut.
LM Entertainment and Kakao Entertainment revealed the tracklist for the group’s debut album “SPLAY : CHAPTER 01” on Wednesday. The three-song release features lead single “Makcha,” alongside “Domino” and “Celebration.”
The project pairs outside collaborators with the band’s own songwriting.
“Makcha” was created with a production team led by singer-songwriter Lee Mujin, bringing a more melodic and reflective side to Splayit’s debut. “Domino,” meanwhile, credits members Yoonchan and Kyungwook as co-composers alongside album producer NV1, giving the band an early hand in shaping its own sound.
Splayit is the second band to emerge from “Steel Heart Club,” following Hartswave. The five-piece first drew attention on the program for its youthful “school band” identity, and the debut album builds on that image with a mix of breezy energy and more sentimental songwriting.
The lineup consists of vocalist Yoonchan, drummer Eunbin, keyboardist Kyungwook, guitarist Aiden and bassist Eunchan.
“SPLAY : CHAPTER 01” will be released Aug. 13.
