On the 24th, Garena confirmed the official Korean release of Monster Hunter Outlanders — a new mobile title based on Capcom's popular hunting-action series Monster Hunter — and opened pre-registration.
The game is a mobile survival action hunting title being developed by TiMi Studio Group, a studio under Tencent Games, under an official license from Capcom. It carries over the original's appeal of exploring vast natural environments and ecosystems, observing monster behavior, and crafting gear to set out on the hunt.
The controls have been reworked for mobile. According to Garena, even follow-up (derivative) actions can be triggered with a single button, preserving the series' signature action feel while adding the convenience of touch controls.
The stage is Isolesia Island, which features varied terrain and climates. Alongside monsters that have appeared in the series, a new large monster, "Yunggwangjong" , makes its appearance, with more new monsters set to be revealed one after another afterward. Players craft and place exploration tools such as ziplines and gliders themselves to roam the field, and can attempt strategic hunts that take advantage of monsters preying on other creatures or fighting over territory.
Each "adventurer" in the game has different abilities and skills, and players set out on the hunt alongside "Airou" — the series' signature companion — as well as new companions such as "Medley" and "Rutako". Real-time multiplayer for up to four players, along with social content such as fixed parties and adventurer groups, is also included.
Pre-registration can be joined by registering an email address and following the official social media accounts. If the number of pre-registrants and social media followers exceeds the target, rewards including 20 standing recruitment tickets and the adventurer "Raya" (라야) will be granted after the official service launches. A new actual-gameplay video was also released the same day.
Meanwhile, GameY's review of Capcom's IR materials found that the original Monster Hunter series had sold a cumulative 127 million copies as of March 31, 2026. Since the first title launched in 2004, the franchise has led the action genre of cooperatively hunting large monsters.
