[News Culture] Park Seo-jin, Ahn Sung-hoon, Shin Seung-tae and Jaeha set out for a relaxing country getaway on Ganghwa Island. What they got instead was a full day of farm work—and plenty of laughs along the way.
The July 25 episode of KBS2’s ‘Mr. House Husband Season 2’ followed Park and his three close friends as their carefully planned break took an unexpected turn, transforming into an impromptu mission to help local farmers.
With their busy schedules rarely lining up, the four arrived in high spirits. The teasing began almost immediately with a debate over celebrity lookalikes. Ahn claimed a resemblance to 10CM, while Shin nominated Dex as his double. Park drew comparisons to magician Choi Hyun-woo, while Jaeha’s search ended with the group deciding that his closest match was none other than his mother, veteran singer Lim Ju-ri.
The weather soon put an end to their original plans. Torrential monsoon rain swept through the area, effectively canceling the getaway they had envisioned.
Rather than calling it a day, Park headed alone to the village community center in search of an alternative. After learning that local farms were short on workers, he volunteered the group’s help and promptly summoned the other three. Shin, Ahn and Jaeha were less than thrilled by the sudden call to work, but all eventually joined him.
Their first stop was a sprawling vineyard covering roughly 6,600 square meters. Working through the rain, the four began fitting protective covers over the grapes to shield them from excess moisture and disease.
That was when their contrasting personalities came into full view.
Shin kept the conversation flowing throughout the job, drawing on his experience with rural television shoots and joking that “you can’t just work on a variety show.” Ahn turned himself into the group’s self-appointed grape expert, putting his knowledge as an Anseong City promotional ambassador to use before breaking into an improvised commercial parody.
Jaeha took the opposite approach. He kept his head down and worked steadily, earning comparisons to a seasoned young farmer.
Park naturally took command. He stressed the importance of getting the job done properly while also being the first to jump into each task, setting the pace for everyone else.
His work ethic did not go unnoticed. When the vineyard owner was asked to rank the four as potential sons-in-law, Park took the top spot, followed by Jaeha. Ahn demanded another chance, only to watch Shin get picked next, leaving him empty-handed once again.
Finishing the vineyard was only the beginning. The quartet then headed straight to a barn housing around 30 animals, setting up yet another round of hard labor. A preview showing Shin reacting particularly strongly to what awaited them added another comic hook for the next episode.
What began as a planned vacation ultimately worked because almost nothing went according to plan.
Park kept the day moving by embracing the unexpected rather than resisting it, while Ahn, Shin and Jaeha each brought a distinctly different energy to the work. Their constant back-and-forth and easy chemistry turned an accidental farming assignment into one of the episode’s strongest sources of comedy.
The country getaway may have disappeared in the rain, but the four came away with something far more memorable: an unlikely “trot farm crew” built on hard work, personality clashes and effortless banter.
With another round of labor already waiting for them, their unpredictable Ganghwa Island trip is far from over.
