[News Culture] TAEMIN is entering a new era. After steadily expanding his musical range through a series of deeply personal releases, the soloist is returning with a new album and a world tour designed to push his artistry onto an even broader global stage.
Galaxy Corporation announced on July 24 that TAEMIN will release his new album, “PHASE 1 : SOFT VIOLENCE,” on Aug. 31.
The album is his first since his fifth mini album, “ETERNAL,” released in August 2024. Since then, he has kept his musical evolution in motion with three special singles: “Veil” last September, “Long Way Home” in January and “PERMISSION” in May.
A surprise “This is” video and enigmatic imagery featuring sugar cubes and ants have already begun teasing the world surrounding the album. TAEMIN, who has increasingly paired atmospheric pop R&B with personal storytelling, is expected to take that sound and emotional depth into new territory with “PHASE 1 : SOFT VIOLENCE.”
The album will also lead into his next major live chapter. TAEMIN is preparing to embark on the 2026–27 “LiMiNaL” world tour, building on the international momentum of his recent touring career.
The new tour follows “Ephemeral Gaze,” his arena tour “Veil” across the U.S. and Japan, and January’s expanded solo concert “Veil in Las Vegas” at Dolby Live.
TAEMIN has also strengthened his presence on the global festival circuit this year with appearances at Coachella and the U.K.’s BST Hyde Park. “LiMiNaL” now looks to channel that momentum into a show centered on transformation and crossing boundaries.
The title evokes the idea of standing at a threshold—not an ending, but the point where something new begins. That concept closely mirrors TAEMIN’s trajectory as he continues to move beyond the conventional frame of a K-pop performer and carve out an artistic identity distinctly his own.
TAEMIN’s “PHASE 1 : SOFT VIOLENCE” will be released Aug. 31.
