According to Dr. Bruno Vargas, one of the main advantages of the curved HIFU device is its ability to distribute energy uniformly by adapting to the facial contours. This enables physicians to deliver treatments with greater precision, safety, and predictability, while allowing patients to experience more natural aesthetic outcomes with minimal pain.

Dr. Bruno Vargas identified the ability of curved HIFU technology to deliver energy uniformly along the natural contours of the face as its greatest advantage. According to Dr. Vargas, this enables physicians to perform procedures more safely and precisely with greater predictability, while helping patients achieve more natural-looking improvements with less discomfort.

Newpong's curved HIFU technology—the first of its kind developed in Korea and recognized for opening a new chapter in ultrasound-based lifting—is now attracting growing attention among physicians in Brazil. In particular, local physicians have praised its curved cartridge for delivering energy more evenly by naturally adapting to the anatomical contours of the face.

In a recent written interview with Health Kyunghyang, Dr. Bruno Vargas, Dermatologist at CBV Clinic, Brazil, said,

"Brazilian patients are increasingly seeking natural-looking results and overall improvements in skin quality rather than dramatic changes in appearance. Technological innovation by Korean medical device companies is playing an important role in this shift."

The following is a Q&A with Dr. Vargas.

- Is there strong interest in aesthetic medicine in Brazil?

Brazil has always had a strong interest in aesthetic medicine. While appearance remains important, patients today are increasingly seeking natural-looking results and improvements in overall skin quality rather than noticeable or artificial changes.

I believe Korea has played an important role in this transformation. K-Beauty has helped establish a culture of preventive care, continuous skincare and investment in innovative technologies. At the same time, Korean companies have continued to develop highly innovative medical devices, attracting growing interest among Brazilian physicians.

- Preventive aesthetic procedures have become increasingly common in Korea. Are you seeing a similar trend in Brazil?

Yes. We are seeing the same shift in Brazil. More and more younger patients are seeking aesthetic treatments to preserve facial structure and delay the aging process rather than trying to correct advanced signs of aging later.

This concept makes perfect sense. The earlier we stimulate collagen production and maintain healthy tissue quality, the better the long-term outcomes tend to be.

- How did you first learn about Lincurve Pro, the curved HIFU device?

I was first introduced to Lincurve Pro during a visit by HPF Aesthetics to my clinic.

What impressed me most was that it had been developed to address a long-standing limitation of conventional HIFU devices—their inability to conform closely to the natural contours of the face.

Even before using the device, I could tell that it represented a genuinely different technological approach from conventional HIFU systems.

- After using Lincurve Pro, what differences did you notice compared with conventional HIFU devices?

The aspect that impressed me most was how naturally the curved cartridge adapted to the anatomical contours of the face.

With conventional HIFU devices, it is common to lose contact in curved facial areas, creating small untreated gaps and resulting in less uniform energy distribution.

With Lincurve Pro, however, I observed much more homogeneous energy delivery across these regions, particularly along the jawline and facial contours. This improves the predictability of treatment and contributes to more consistent clinical outcomes.

In addition, many patients reported experiencing less discomfort than they had with previous HIFU treatments, without compromising treatment efficacy.

- How have your patients responded to the new device?

The overall response has been very positive.

Patients generally describe the treatment as more comfortable, and as collagen remodeling progresses over the following months, they notice gradual improvements in facial contours and skin firmness.

Of course, we always emphasize that treatment outcomes depend on proper patient selection and individualized clinical assessment.

- Could you share a clinical case that best demonstrates the advantages of Lincurve Pro?

One particularly memorable case involved a patient with mild to moderate skin laxity around the jawline and an early loss of jawline definition.

She was looking for a non-surgical treatment with minimal downtime.

Following treatment with Lincurve Pro, we observed gradual improvements in skin firmness and facial contours, producing a very natural-looking lifting effect.

It was an excellent example of how the technology can deliver energy efficiently across anatomically complex curved areas of the face.

- Would you recommend Lincurve Pro to other physicians?

Absolutely.

I would recommend it primarily because of its technological concept.

The curved cartridge is much more than a simple design change. It addresses one of the long-standing challenges of HIFU treatments—maintaining uniform energy delivery across the curved contours of the face.

By reducing untreated gaps and achieving more homogeneous energy distribution, physicians can improve clinical predictability and provide patients with more consistent treatments.

In my opinion, innovations that solve genuine clinical challenges are what truly drive the advancement of aesthetic medicine.

- How do you expect the HIFU market to evolve in the future?

I believe the continued growth of HIFU will be closely linked to ongoing technological innovation.

Today's patients expect consistent results, comfortable procedures and a high level of safety.

Devices that further improve energy delivery while enhancing procedural precision, safety and predictability will play an increasingly important role in clinical practice.

- What should Korean companies focus on to strengthen their competitiveness in the Brazilian market?

The Brazilian market values innovation, but it also demands scientific support and physician education.

In addition to developing excellent technologies, Korean companies should continue investing in physician training, clinical evidence generation, close collaboration with physicians and solutions tailored to the realities of Brazilian clinical practice.

When technological innovation is supported by scientific evidence, physician education and continuous clinical support, adoption becomes far more consistent.
