Boy group AHOF officially stepped into its second year with a stronger musical identity, pairing the polished synchronization that has become its trademark with a brighter, more mature take on youth.

On July 8, AHOF held a media showcase at YES24 Live Hall in Seoul's Gwangjin District to celebrate the release of its third mini album, RUN TO YOU. Hosted by comedian Yoo Jae-pil, the event featured performances of the title track "RUN TO YOU" and pre-release single "Sugar High," along with the members' reflections on returning after an eight-month hiatus.

RUN TO YOU marks AHOF's first release since last November's second mini album The Passage. Arriving around the group's first anniversary, the record continues the narrative established by debut EP WHO WE ARE, which introduced uncertain dreams, and The Passage, which explored the turbulence of youth. This time, the focus shifts toward confidence—moving forward without hesitation.

Cha Woong-ki and Steven described the album as a story about "running straight toward someone without doubt," adding that the group wanted to reveal a broader side of themselves beyond the coming-of-age themes that defined their earlier releases.

The five-track EP opens with the energetic title song "RUN TO YOU" and the Brazilian funk-inspired pre-release single "Sugar High." It also includes "JUST SAY YES," built around restrained band instrumentation; the heartfelt pop confession "Just Because It's You"; and fan song "Our Story," which blends shuffle rhythms with electronic pop.

Seo Jung-woo said balancing album production with tour preparations left little free time, but the members made the most of every gap in their schedules to perfect the performances.

"We wanted to show not only the side fans already know, but also a stronger and more powerful image," he said.

Seen both on stage and in its accompanying music videos, RUN TO YOU expands AHOF's signature youthful image rather than replacing it. The group retains the bright energy that has defined its early career while presenting a more assured sense of direction.

The title track "RUN TO YOU" is a fast-paced summer dance song built on bright band instrumentation. While preserving the refreshing charm associated with the group, the performance adds greater momentum through intricate large-group choreography that emphasizes speed, precision and fluid movement.

One of the performance's defining moments comes midway through the song, where an unexpected musical shift leads into partner choreography that broadens the stage composition. Even as formations constantly change, the members maintain remarkably clean synchronization, highlighting how much the group's teamwork has evolved over the past year.

By contrast, B-side "Sugar High" explores a heavier rhythmic palette. Built around Latin-inspired grooves and Brazilian funk influences, the track channels youthful passion through weightier bass lines and a more groove-oriented performance style. The choreography likewise moves away from the group's familiar bright aesthetic, favoring stronger accents and a more grounded sense of movement.

"We've always told stories about youth, including the struggles we've experienced since our debut," Cha Woong-ki said. "Now we're at a point where we're truly feeling what it means to keep moving forward. Capturing that stage of our lives as honestly as possible is what makes AHOF unique."

Taken together, RUN TO YOU feels less like a dramatic reinvention than a natural progression. Rather than abandoning the identity established during its rookie year, AHOF builds on it with greater confidence, tighter performances and a clearer artistic direction.

Steven and Seo Jung-woo said the past year has fundamentally changed the group's chemistry.

"We came together through a survival program, and during our first year we were still learning how to work as a team," they said. "Now we understand each other's strengths much better. Supporting one another without hesitation and creating memories with our fans has helped us grow tremendously. We're excited to see where this journey takes us next."

Park Ju-won and Park Han-eun also reflected on the support the group has received since its previous promotions.

"We received far more love than we ever expected," they said. "After eight months of preparation, we hope this album feels like a gift to everyone who waited for us, while also becoming a starting point for new listeners to discover AHOF."

With RUN TO YOU, AHOF isn't chasing a radical image overhaul. Instead, the group refines the qualities that first drew attention—crisp performance, youthful optimism and strong team chemistry—while broadening its musical palette through band-driven pop and groove-focused dance tracks. As the members enter their second year together, the release suggests a group growing more confident not by changing course, but by moving forward with greater conviction.

AHOF released its third mini album RUN TO YOU on July 8 and officially began promotions for the new record.
