After six years, the action-comedy franchise "Okay Madam" is heading back to theaters with a larger-scale adventure set aboard a luxury cruise.
"Okay Madam 2" follows former elite agent Mi-young, played by Uhm Jung-hwa, as what should be a relaxing family vacation turns into a hostage crisis in the middle of the ocean. While the 2020 original unfolded aboard a hijacked airplane, the sequel shifts its action to a sprawling cruise ship, promising a new backdrop for its blend of comedy and high-energy set pieces.
The 12 newly released stills highlight the film's mix of family comedy and action spectacle. Mi-young is shown enjoying her quiet life as the owner of a twisted-doughnut shop alongside her husband Seok-hwan (Park Sung-woong) before boarding the luxury cruise for Hyun-min's (Bae Jung-nam) wedding.
The images also tease Mi-young's unexpected turn as a stage magician following a suggestion from Ji-hoon (Ryeoun), while the arrival of crime boss Anya (Choi Soo-young) throws the ship into chaos and sets the stage for an unpredictable showdown.
Additional stills showcase Mi-young's return to her legendary-agent instincts, Seok-hwan's efforts to protect the passengers, and cruise company executive Seon-ah (Park Jin-joo), whose determination to save the vessel creates an unlikely alliance. Former agent Cheol-seung (Lee Sang-yoon) also returns, hinting at another round of large-scale action and comic teamwork.
The original "Okay Madam," released in 2020, drew approximately 1.22 million admissions in South Korea.
"Okay Madam 2" opens in Korean theaters on Aug. 12.
