AGENT KIM continues to gain momentum as one of South Korea's biggest television hits, reaching another major ratings milestone just four episodes into its run.
The July 4 broadcast of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama drew a 21.6% nationwide rating and a 22.7% household rating in the Seoul metropolitan area, according to Nielsen Korea. The episode also reached a peak of 25.1%, making AGENT KIM the third highest-rated SBS Friday-Saturday drama in network history behind Penthouse 2 and The Fiery Priest.
The series also remained a strong performer among viewers aged 20 to 49, posting a 7.6% average rating and peaking at 8.81%, further underscoring its growing popularity across key audience demographics.
Episode 4 raised the stakes by bringing its three central fathers onto the same path as they raced to rescue Min-ji.
Kim, played by So Ji-sub, refused to slow down despite suffering a gunshot wound, choosing to continue the search rather than seek treatment. Sung Han-soo (Choi Dae-hoon) and Park Jin-chul (Yoon Kyung-ho) pursued the kidnappers through separate strategies before their efforts finally converged.
The episode also expanded Kim's backstory, revealing the brutal training that shaped him into a covert operative and the mission that claimed the life of his closest partner. Those experiences continue to influence every decision he makes as he fights to save his daughter.
After tracing Min-ji's cellphone, the three men identified a suspicious white vehicle and narrowed in on the people behind the kidnapping. Their progress, however, was interrupted by a sudden explosion that sent the operation into disarray.
Each character responded differently to the escalating danger. Sung escaped by leaping into a river after drawing enemy attention away, while Park surrendered at gunpoint to keep the investigation alive from another angle. Kim pressed ahead alone, refusing to abandon the search even as the risks continued to mount.
The episode's closing moments delivered another major reveal. Min-ji, previously presumed dead, was shown to be alive inside a freezing warehouse. Unaware of her fate, Kim followed his next lead to Myeongpo Port, where another mysterious figure entered the story and set up the drama's next confrontation.
With one ally missing, another in custody and Kim pushing deeper into enemy territory, the series heads into its next chapter with both its ratings momentum and dramatic stakes continuing to build.
