After weeks of personal setbacks, hard-earned friendships and emotional healing on the remote island of Pyeondongdo, ENA's Doctor on the Edge is entering its final two episodes. With each of its five young protagonists standing at a crossroads, the cast has shared what viewers should watch as the story moves toward its conclusion.
Lee Jae-wook, who leads the series as public health doctor Do Ji-ui, said the drama's defining thread lies in watching its characters continue to push forward despite repeated setbacks. He encouraged viewers to pay close attention to how each character changes through conflict and adversity. His own journey, shaped by lingering trauma tied to the sea and a series of unexpected challenges, is expected to play a central role in the closing episodes.
Shin Ye-eun, who plays nurse Yuk Ha-ri, said the emotional connections between the characters remain at the heart of the finale. After portraying a character balancing warmth, resilience and personal grief, she noted that viewers will see how the residents of Pyeondongdo gradually come to understand and support one another, reinforcing the sense of community that has defined the series.
Hong Min-ki, who plays fellow public health doctor Hyun Chi-yeon, pointed to the changing dynamic between the island's medical staff and its residents. As suspicion gives way to trust, he believes those evolving relationships will become one of the finale's most rewarding storylines.
Lee Soo-kyung reflected on Eom Jeong-seon's journey, saying the character's emotional growth has been one of the drama's defining arcs. She encouraged audiences to stay through the final episode to see how each character's personal journey and relationships ultimately find their resolution.
Kim Yoon-woo also highlighted Yong Joo-cheon's relationship with Eom Jeong-seon as a key storyline in the closing episodes. With new complications emerging before the finale, he suggested their future together remains one of the drama's biggest unanswered questions.
Across its run, Doctor on the Edge has followed five young people carrying different emotional scars as they learned to care for patients, build lasting relationships and rediscover themselves on Pyeondongdo. With the finale now in sight, attention turns to how those journeys will come together—and what kind of farewell the series will ultimately deliver.
