Boy group CORTIS has solidified its position as a mainstream group, ranking the highest among K-pop boy groups on Melon's monthly chart this year.
Boy Group Breaks Brutality... "REDRED" topped Melon's monthly chart with the title track "REDRED"
According to the monthly chart of Melon, Korea's largest music platform, released on June 1, "REDRED," the title track of Cortis' second mini album, was proudly ranked second. The song, which entered the chart at the third place last month, rose one more place in a month, breaking the highest ranking among boy groups this year.
Melon's monthly chart aggregates the ranking by summing the score for use of music such as streaming and downloading from the 1st to the last day of each month. In particular, since it is based on the number of pure users excluding duplicate streaming, it is considered the most eponymous indicator of public awareness and popularity beyond the firepower of the fandom.
It is the first time in two years and three months that a K-pop boy group's song has entered the top two Melon monthly chart since March 2024. In addition, it is an unusual achievement, with only five boy groups, including Cortis, ranking second or higher on the chart in the last decade.
