Disney+'s A Shop for Killers returns with a second season built around the question many viewers were left asking after the finale: Where was Jeong Jin-man during the events of Season 1?
The first season followed Jeong Ji-an (Kim Hye-jun), who became the target of deadly assassins after learning of her uncle Jin-man's (Lee Dong-wook) apparent death. Season 2 picks up after Ji-an inherits Murder Help and takes over as its new leader, only to reunite with the very much alive Jin-man as they launch a counteroffensive against the powerful Babylon organization.
Director Lee Kwon said the new season was designed around the mystery that lingered after Season 1.
"I think viewers were all asking the same question after the finale—where exactly was Jin-man that day?" he said. "Season 2 begins by answering that question."
Lee explained that the story also explores how Ji-an reacts after finally learning the truth from Jin-man, how their relationship evolves, and who the members of Babylon really are.
"If Season 1 was about establishing the relationship between Jin-man and Ji-an, Season 2 moves beyond that foundation," Lee said. "The universe becomes much larger, and the story continues moving forward."
The new season promises larger-scale action as Ji-an, now leading Murder Help, joins forces with Jin-man to confront Babylon. Returning characters undergo significant development while new faces expand the narrative, accompanied by bigger action sequences and a broader scope.
A Shop for Killers Season 2 premieres on Disney+ in July.
