EMK Musical Company has announced the complete cast for the sixth Korean season of Elisabeth, set to begin performances Aug. 16 at Blue Square Woori Bank Hall in Seoul.

One of the most successful musical productions in Korean theater history, Elisabeth returns with a mix of familiar favorites and new faces taking on some of the show's most iconic roles.

Lina, Lee Ji-hye and Lee Ji-soo will share the title role of Empress Elisabeth, the Austrian royal whose lifelong pursuit of freedom forms the emotional core of the musical.

Lina is expected to bring her signature emotional depth to the role, highlighting Elisabeth's loneliness and inner struggles. Lee Ji-hye returns with experience gained from previous productions, while Lee Ji-soo joins the cast with a fresh interpretation of the beloved character.

Among the season's most anticipated casting announcements is Death (Der Tod), the mysterious figure who accompanies Elisabeth throughout her life and becomes one of the musical's defining presences.

Kai, Seo Kyung-soo and Ko Eun-sung have all been cast as Death, with all three actors taking on the role for the first time.

Kai brings his renowned vocal power and commanding stage presence to the character, while Seo Kyung-soo is expected to offer a charismatic and intense portrayal. Ko Eun-sung rounds out the trio with his own distinctive interpretation of the enigmatic role.

The role of Luigi Lucheni—the narrator of the story and the man who assassinates Elisabeth—will be played by Park Eun-tae, Kang Hong-seok and Noh Yoon.

Park returns to one of his signature roles after appearing in multiple previous seasons. Kang revisits the character for the first time in eight years, while Noh joins the production as a newcomer to the role.

Min Young-ki and Park Min-sung will portray Emperor Franz Joseph, Elisabeth's husband and the ruler of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Seo Ji-young and Joo Ah will take on the role of Sophie, the formidable matriarch whose conflicts with Elisabeth shape much of the drama's tension.

Jang Yoon-seok and Kim Woo-sung have been cast as Crown Prince Rudolf, the tragic heir whose storyline becomes a pivotal emotional thread in the musical. Supporting roles include Kim Dae-ho as Max and Jang Ye-won as Ludovika.

Created by librettist Michael Kunze and composer Sylvester Levay, Elisabeth premiered in Vienna in 1992 and has since been seen by more than 12.5 million audience members worldwide.

The musical remains a favorite among theater fans for its sweeping score, including signature numbers such as "I Belong to Me," "The Last Dance," "Milk," "Kitsch" and "The Shades of Night Are Growing Longer."

Since its Korean premiere, Elisabeth has become one of the country's defining licensed musicals, earning critical acclaim, major theater awards and strong box-office success across multiple productions.

The sixth Korean season of Elisabeth will run from Aug. 16 through Nov. 15 at Blue Square Woori Bank Hall in Seoul.
