tvN’s See You at Work Tomorrow! continued to deepen its mix of office drama and slow-burn romance in Episode 2, as Cha Ji-yoon found herself standing at a crossroads between giving up and taking a chance on herself.
The June 23 broadcast followed Ji-yoon (Park Ji-hyun) as she navigated mounting uncertainty at work while growing increasingly aware of her connection with Kang Si-woo (Seo In-guk).
The episode opened with a much-talked-about kiss between the two characters, only to reveal that the moment existed solely in Ji-yoon’s imagination. What followed was a series of misunderstandings, with Ji-yoon repeatedly misreading Si-woo’s attempts to get closer to her after becoming convinced he viewed her differently once he learned more about her personal struggles.
While Ji-yoon avoided him, Si-woo continued looking for opportunities to reach out. The tension culminated in what initially appeared to be a confession, only for Si-woo’s heartfelt words to lead to an invitation of a different kind: a chance to join his special task force project.
The proposal forced Ji-yoon to confront a fear that had long held her back. Afraid of failure and hesitant to take another risk, she initially turned him down. Her perspective began to shift, however, after witnessing the passion and commitment Si-woo poured into his work. Seeing him relentlessly pursue new ideas reminded her of the kind of mentor and colleague she had always hoped to find.
The episode also revisited a chapter of Ji-yoon’s past when her first love, Jo Ga-eul (Choi Kyung-hoon), unexpectedly returned after disappearing months earlier. Although she firmly told him their relationship was over, lingering emotions suggested that some wounds had yet to fully heal.
Meanwhile, workplace tensions escalated as a senior employee continued to harass a junior colleague. Refusing to stay silent, Ji-yoon stepped forward and publicly challenged the behavior, marking another important moment in her growing confidence and willingness to stand up for both herself and others.
The emotional centerpiece arrived when Si-woo finally explained why he had been so determined to help her.
He revealed that he had been watching her potential since their earliest days at the company and admitted that she was someone he never wanted to lose sight of.
For Ji-yoon, the confession carried more weight than romance. In a workplace where she had often doubted herself, Si-woo’s unwavering belief in her abilities offered something she needed even more: validation. Later, she discovered a notebook filled with his thoughtful comments and encouragement on her ideas, a gesture that quietly reinforced every word he had spoken.
By the episode’s end, Ji-yoon made her choice.
Rather than submitting her resignation, she accepted Si-woo’s invitation to join the task force team, choosing possibility over retreat. As she stepped forward and declared her decision, the pair finally found themselves moving in the same direction, setting the stage for the next chapter of their evolving relationship.
According to Nielsen Korea, Episode 2 posted a nationwide average rating of 4.4% and a peak of 5.8%, ranking first in its timeslot among cable and pay-TV channels.
