KBS is once again turning to one of Korea’s most enduring music icons for its flagship Chuseok holiday special.
The broadcaster has confirmed “Your Life Is a Never Ending Story – Lee Seung-chul” as the centerpiece of its 2026 Chuseok programming lineup, spotlighting the veteran vocalist’s 40-year career through a large-scale concert production.
The annual KBS Chuseok Grand Project has become a marquee holiday event, previously honoring legendary artists through specials such as Korea Again Na Hoon-a in 2020 and This Moment Forever – Cho Yong-pil in 2025. The series has established itself as one of Korean television’s signature music showcases, celebrating artists whose work has shaped generations of listeners.
This year’s spotlight falls on Lee Seung-chul, widely known as one of Korea’s premier live performers. Marking the 40th anniversary of his debut, the singer is set to revisit the defining moments of his musical journey through a performance designed to connect personal history with collective memory.
The concert takes its title from Lee’s signature ballad “Never Ending Story.” Rather than functioning as a straightforward greatest-hits show, the production is being framed as a narrative-driven concert exploring how his music has accompanied audiences through different stages of life.
The setlist is expected to feature many of the artist’s best-known songs, including “Heeya,” “Don’t Say Goodbye,” “Girls’ Generation,” “Today Again,” “Fate,” “Western Sky,” and “No One Else Like That.” Together, the repertoire traces themes of love, loss, growth and consolation that have resonated with listeners across multiple generations.
The event will be staged at Inspire Arena, Korea’s first purpose-built arena venue, equipped with advanced acoustics and large-scale production capabilities designed to maximize the impact of Lee’s acclaimed live performances.
Admission will be free of charge. KBS said the project reflects the public broadcaster’s commitment to making major cultural events accessible to a broad audience, combining live concert production with television broadcasting.
The network plans to air the recorded performance during the Chuseok holiday period on KBS2.
“We are preparing a stage where different generations can connect through Lee Seung-chul’s 40-year musical journey,” the production team said. “We hope to deliver the kind of emotion and resonance that feels especially meaningful during the holiday season.”
Your Life Is a Never Ending Story – Lee Seung-chul will take place on Aug. 1 at 5 p.m. KST at Inspire Arena, with the televised broadcast scheduled for the Chuseok holiday.
