Actress Go Youn-jung is drawing attention for a series of emotionally resonant lines in JTBC weekend drama We Are All Trying Here, offering viewers quiet but powerful comfort through her portrayal of Byun Eun-ah.

The series follows people struggling against feelings of worthlessness and emotional isolation, and Go’s performance has become one of the drama’s strongest emotional anchors. Playing a sharp-tongued film company PD nicknamed “The Axe,” she balances cold realism with unexpected warmth, delivering dialogue that lingers long after each episode ends.

One of the drama’s most talked-about moments came in Episode 1, when Eun-ah says, “If you stay silent, it feels like you don’t even exist. How can you stay quiet?” The line arrives as others dismiss Dong-man, played by Koo Kyo-hwan, as little more than a nuisance. Eun-ah alone recognizes his existence, turning a simple exchange into one of the series’ defining emotional moments.

Another widely praised scene appears in Episode 3, when Eun-ah reads Dong-man’s screenplay and quietly tells him, “You seem like someone with a thousand doors wide open.” She later adds, “You’re far more interesting than your protagonist. Animalistic and warm.” Rather than empty encouragement, the moment reveals her ability to see possibilities others overlook, deeply resonating with viewers.

Episode 4 delivered another memorable scene at a police station. When Dong-man hesitates after being asked about his occupation, Eun-ah confidently introduces him as a “film director” while calling herself his “assigned PD.” The brief exchange restored dignity to a man constantly treated as directionless and unemployed, leaving a strong emotional impact on audiences.

Eun-ah’s dialogue also reflects her own quiet resilience. In Episode 5, she firmly confronts company CEO Choi Dong-hyun, played by Choi Won-young, saying, “I may be quiet, but I’m neither easy nor weak.” The restrained but unwavering response resonated strongly with office workers and viewers who related to her determination to protect herself without losing composure.

Through Byun Eun-ah, Go Youn-jung continues to deliver a character who comforts people simply by acknowledging their existence. In a drama centered on emotional survival and self-worth, her words remain powerful precisely because they feel honest and painfully real.
