Actor Koo Sung-hwan walked approximately 446 kilometers from Seoul to Busan in memory of his beloved dog “Kkotboon,” who passed away in February.
On the April 17 episode of MBC’s “Home Alone,” Koo Sung-hwan’s 16-day, 17-night cross-country journey will be revealed.
Appearing noticeably slimmer, Koo Sung-hwan surprised the cast by saying, “I’m currently on a cross-country walk from Seoul to Busan.” He shared that this is his third attempt after failing a similar challenge in his twenties.
He added, “I think this will be my last attempt,” explaining that he wanted to overcome the emotional pain of losing Kkotboon, who had been like family to him. The journey carries deep personal meaning.
After walking 421 kilometers over 16 days, he now stands just 25 kilometers away from his final destination. Enduring the demanding journey while thinking only of Kkotboon, he admitted, “I feel like I might cry,” revealing his overwhelming emotions.
Covered in pain relief patches and limping forward, he continues his final steps. Carrying a “Kkotboon keyring” in his bag and wearing a “Kkotboon bracelet,” he quietly expressed his wish to keep walking together.
As if welcoming him, cherry blossoms line his path in full bloom. Looking at the scenery, Koo Sung-hwan said, “I don’t think I’ll ever forget this moment for the rest of my life,” leaving a deep emotional resonance.
