Salmokji extended its box office dominance, holding the top spot for six consecutive days.
According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated ticketing system on April 14, Salmokji drew 73,629 viewers on April 13, maintaining its No.1 position. Its cumulative audience has reached 797,652.
The horror film follows a mysterious figure captured on a road-view image at Salmokji, leading a film crew back to a reservoir for reshoots, where they encounter something lurking in the dark depths of the water. The film stars Kim Hye-yoon, Lee Jong-won, Kim Jun-han, Kim Young-sung, Oh Dong-min, Yoon Jae-chan, and Jang Da-a.
The King's Warden climbed to second place with 23,806 viewers, bringing its cumulative total to 16,421,148. The film currently ranks No.2 on the all-time Korean box office chart, surpassing Extreme Job (16,266,641).
Set in 1457 at Cheongnyeongpo, the film tells the story of a village leader who voluntarily chooses exile for the revival of his community and a young deposed king sent into exile.
Project Hail Mary placed third with 23,630 viewers, pushing its cumulative total to 2,065,152.
The film centers on a scientist who wakes up alone aboard a spacecraft with no memory and must carry out a final mission to prevent humanity’s extinction. It is based on the novel by Andy Weir, author of The Martian.
Fourth place went to Crime 101, which drew 1,299 viewers for a total of 15,870.
Set in Los Angeles, the thriller follows intersecting desires and crimes surrounding a diamond heist.
The Last Song You Left Me re-entered the chart at No.5, adding 1,115 viewers for a cumulative total of 77,315.
The youth romance follows a boy named Haruto who writes poetry and a girl named Ayane who expresses the world through music, as they complete their own story of love and sound.
