Actor Shin Hyun-joon returns to the big screen with Wanted, a high-concept comedy set for theatrical release this June. Teaming up with longtime friend Kim Byung-man, the film sets up a fast-paced pursuit built on a doppelgänger premise.
The story follows an ordinary man, Hyun-joon, who becomes entangled in a chaotic manhunt after being mistaken for a criminal identical to him, known as Cheol-gu. Forced into cooperation with the police, he is drawn into a relentless chase that blurs the line between victim and suspect.
Shin Hyun-joon leads the film in a dual-role performance, portraying both the wronged civilian and his criminal double. Building on his established comedic range, he is expected to deliver a sharp contrast between the two characters while driving the film’s central tension.
Kim Byung-man joins as a rigid yet comical detective, adding kinetic energy to the narrative. Bae Woo-hee takes on the role of a passionate detective, while Regina Lei appears as Yan-fei, a mysterious figure holding a crucial key to the unfolding events.
As a Korea–Taiwan co-production, Wanted expands its visual scope through cross-border locations. Directed by Shin Jae-ho, the film is expected to showcase his signature rhythm and unfiltered comedic style.
