Hidden Singer 8 is returning after a four-year hiatus with growing anticipation, as longtime hosts Jeon Hyun-moo and Song Eun-yi preview a season defined by scale and surprise.
Jeon emphasized the show’s lasting appeal in an oversaturated content market, calling it “a program viewers consistently return to and miss when it ends.” Addressing expectations around the comeback, he added, “We’ve already filmed four episodes, and major moments have already happened,” signaling confidence in the new season’s impact.
Song pointed to the upgraded level of contestants as a defining factor. “The impersonators this season are exceptionally strong,” she said. “Any concerns I had before filming quickly disappeared.” She also noted that each episode will feature evolving deduction formats and rotating celebrity panels, raising the show’s complexity and engagement.
The hosts’ long-running chemistry remains central. Jeon described Song as “indispensable” to the set, while Song credited Jeon’s sharp wit and controlled pacing as key to the program’s consistency.
This season’s lineup of original artists includes Sim Soo-bong, Kim Jang-hoon, Lee Seung-gi, Younha, Lee Hae-ri, Ha Hyun-woo and 10CM, forming one of the franchise’s most diverse rosters.
Jeon singled out Sim Soo-bong, featured in the premiere, as a key highlight. “She rarely appears on television and has said she’s never heard anyone impersonate her,” he said. “Watching her face five impersonators at once will be compelling.”
Song highlighted Kim Jang-hoon and 10CM as standout episodes to watch. “Kim Jang-hoon brings both emotional depth and entertainment value,” she said, while questioning whether anyone can truly replicate 10CM’s signature vocal tone.
Jeon also confirmed he is actively pursuing a high-profile addition, revealing Lim Young-woong is currently being approached. “It hasn’t been finalized, but I’m continuing to persuade him,” he said. “I want to bring him on with sincerity.”
