Actor Yook Sung-jae has confirmed his next project, ‘Nine to Six,’ signaling a strategic expansion of his acting range.
According to his agency IWill Media on March 24, Yook will star in the SBS drama ‘Nine to Six,’ set to air in the second half of the year. The series is directed by Lee Hyung-min and Oh Song-hee, written by Choi Ji-oh, and produced by Studio S and Samhwa Networks.
The drama follows Kang I-ji (Park Min-young), a rational legal team deputy manager, alongside intern Han Sun-woo and division head Park Hyun-tae (Ko Soo), weaving a grounded office romance.
Yook plays Han Sun-woo, a sharp and reliable legal team intern who earns trust through quick judgment and steady work ethic. Positioned as the emotional counterpoint to Kang I-ji’s work-driven persona, the role highlights a restrained yet effective romantic presence.
The project gains added weight as Yook’s follow-up to ‘The Haunted Palace,’ where his dual-role performance secured the Excellence Award at the 2025 SBS Drama Awards, reinforcing his standing as a leading actor.
Transitioning from historical fantasy to contemporary romance, ‘Nine to Six’ is expected to test the breadth of Yook’s performance range.
Meanwhile, Yook will continue parallel activities with BTOB, marking the group’s 14th anniversary with the release of ‘We Again.’
