Singer and actor Im Chang-jung reunites with cartoonist Huh Young-man, revealing their long-standing connection.
The March 22 broadcast of TV CHOSUN’s “Huh Young Man's Food Travel” follows Im Chang-jung, best known for the hit “A Shot of Soju,” as he embarks on a Seoul drinking food tour.
A versatile entertainer across music and acting, Im shares his special link with Huh. He previously starred in the film “Beat,” based on Huh Young-man’s original work, highlighting their creative connection.
Reuniting after years, the two visit Im’s favorite local spots, including a long-standing chicken soup restaurant, a barbecue house boasting ten varieties of kimchi, and a puffer fish restaurant led by a chef with 24 years of experience.
Im also opens up about his difficult early years before debuting as a singer. While working jobs such as gas delivery and flyer distribution, a phone call from actor Lee Byung-hun became a turning point in his life. Although his first album initially struggled to gain attention, one of its tracks, “Already to Me,” later gained traction after being played from a street cart, eventually reaching No. 6 on a music show in a rare reverse-chart success. He further energizes the scene by performing “A Shot of Soju” and his new song “Crazy Guy” live at the restaurant.
Meanwhile, Im’s wife Seo Ha-yan makes a surprise appearance. Their love story, which began when she worked as his stylist and led to marriage despite an 18-year age gap, is revealed. He also shares the story behind “Love Again,” a song he wrote for her, and delivers a live performance that creates a warm atmosphere.
