YG Entertainment is set to celebrate its 30th anniversary with an ambitious “2026 roadmap” that brings together legacy and next-generation IP. Following the recent comeback of BLACKPINK, the return of K-pop megastar BIGBANG and global tours by rising acts TREASURE and BABYMONSTER are expected to drive the company’s momentum.
On March 4, YG released a video titled “2026 YG PLAN” on its official blog, featuring executive producer Yang Hyun-suk presenting the company’s upcoming strategy.
The most attention-grabbing point of the roadmap is the return of BIGBANG. In the video, Yang said the company has reached an agreement with the members to hold a concert celebrating the group’s 20th anniversary, officially confirming a comeback plan that had long been surrounded by speculation.
With BLACKPINK already reclaiming global momentum through their latest album comeback, the addition of BIGBANG’s stage return is expected to further accelerate YG’s performance rebound and corporate value in the second half of the year.
The company’s next-generation IP is also stepping up its global push, linking album releases with large-scale tours to establish strong revenue streams.
BABYMONSTER will release a mini album in May with the title track “CHOOM,” inspired by Eastern aesthetics, followed by a second full-length album in the fall. Starting in June, the group will embark on a large-scale world tour covering South America, Europe, and Oceania to expand its global fanbase. TREASURE will also open the second chapter of its career with a mini album in June, highlighting YG’s signature hip-hop sound more prominently than ever before to strengthen fan engagement.
YG is also reinforcing its future growth engine by introducing new artists. The company is preparing to launch a new boy group in the fall, while also planning to reveal the final lineup of a four-member rookie girl group tentatively titled “Next Monster,” following members Lee Valley and Chanya.
Overall, YG appears determined to prove the strength of its entertainment value chain throughout the year.
Yang said, “For the next 40 or 50 years, we will continue making music without losing our初心,” adding, “The results we have prepared since last year will be shared with fans as good news throughout the year.”
