An inexplicable, inescapable, and unpredictable fear begins to take shape as the hidden truth of Salmokji gradually reveals itself.
Set for release on April 8, Salmokji: Whispering Water follows a film crew who return to a remote reservoir after an unidentified figure appears in road-view footage that no one remembers filming. What begins as a simple reshoot soon escalates into a confrontation with something lurking in the dark, unfathomable depths of the water.
Su-in (Kim Hye-yoon) and the crew head back to Salmokji to retrace their steps. A suspicious shape is captured in footage shot by Kyung-tae (Kim Young-sung), while Gyosik (Kim Jun-han), who had been out of contact, suddenly reappears at the reservoir with an unsettling presence, deepening the mystery.
As night falls, a single phone call containing a shocking truth leaves Su-in visibly shaken. Kyung-jun (Oh Dong-min) and Sung-bin (Yoon Jae-chan) stand frozen, gripping flashlights, while Se-jeong (Jang Da-a) watches a motion detector said to capture spirits. The narrow beams of light intensify the suspense, suggesting that something may be waiting in the darkness.
Meanwhile, Gi-tae (Lee Jong-won), who arrives later, loses his way and enters an old woman’s house, where he hears the secret surrounding Salmokji. The more the group tries to escape, the more they find themselves circling back to the same place, as if drawn toward the water by an unseen force. In the end, Su-in and Gi-tae collapse in shock, their expressions signaling that the horror they encountered has surpassed imagination.
