“Immortal Songs” once again spotlights the timeless hits of legendary singer Seol Woon-do.
In Part 2 of the Seol Woon-do special, Jadu, Kim Soo-chan, D82, Park Seo-jin, and the musical “Anna Karenina” team Kim So-hyang and Yoon Hyung-ryul reinterpret beloved national hits in their own styles, heating up living rooms across the country.
In Part 1, Son Tae-jin claimed final victory with a record-breaking 424 votes, solidifying his reputation as “Seol Woon-do’s adopted son.” Part 2 now unfolds as a fierce showdown for the final winning spot, with artists competing intensely to claim the mantle of the next legend to follow Seol Woon-do.
Jadu prepared a grand-scale performance featuring a live band, cheerleaders, and locking dancers. “I even broke my insurance to prepare for this. I’ve never prepared to this extent before,” she said, expressing strong confidence ahead of the stage.
The undeniable highlight of the night was Park Seo-jin’s performance. Revisiting a concept he first envisioned during his victory on the show six years ago, he stated, “It’s a weapon no singer has ever attempted. I prepared without sparing myself.”
Park Seo-jin chose Seol Woon-do’s debut song “Lost 30 Years.” Beginning with a sorrowful melody reflecting the pain of separated families and drawing the audience into deep immersion, he then unveiled his signature “Fire Drum” performance. With each gesture, powerful drumbeats from a large traditional drum echoed as flames rose in unison, creating a spectacular and unprecedented scene.
The on-site reaction was equally intense. Lee Chan-won remarked, “There have been many performances, but this is the first time I’ve seen a Fire Drum,” unable to hide his astonishment. Son Tae-jin added, “Contestants carry the burden of surpassing themselves. Park Seo-jin crossed that limit today.” With this stage, Park Seo-jin is expected to be remembered not only as the “God of the Janggu,” but newly crowned the “God of the Fire Drum,” marking another iconic moment in the program’s history.
