Singer JENNIE solidified her standing as a solo artist after claiming two major honors at the 23rd Korean Music Awards.
According to OA Entertainment on Feb. 27, JENNIE won Best K-Pop Album for her first solo full-length album ‘Ruby’ and Best K-Pop Song for its title track ‘like JENNIE’ at the ceremony held on Feb. 26.
The achievement follows nominations in five categories, including Musician of the Year. With JENNIE taking part in producing the album herself, the project was praised for blending diverse genres while articulating a distinct musical identity, marking formal recognition of her artistic competitiveness.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK, the group to which JENNIE belongs, released its third mini album ‘DEADLINE’ at 2 p.m. the same day, launching full-group promotions and drawing strong attention from fans both in Korea and overseas.
