KBS2’s Immortal Songs (KBS2) is set to heat up Saturday night once again with a large-scale stage production. This time, viewers will see Part 2 of the “Artist Seol Woon-do” special, reinterpreting the timeless hits of the trot legend. Having surpassed 700 episodes, the show continues to solidify its presence with performances that bridge generations.
In Part 1, Cheon Rok-dam, Lee Seung-hyun, Jeon Yu-jin, Son Tae-jin and LUN8 delivered intense stages. Son Tae-jin, often referred to as Seol Woon-do’s “adopted son,” topped the round with 424 votes. Now, Jadu, Kim Soo-chan, D82, Kim So-hyang and Yoon Hyung-ryeol from the musical Anna Karenina, and Park Seo-jin will compete for the remaining “next legend” title.
The scale of the performances has grown even bigger. From mega-level stunt cheerleading to dance, skating and fire-based acts, genre-defying spectacles are expected. Park Seo-jin, who has two prior wins, hinted at a bold transformation, saying he prepared a “secret weapon.” Jadu named Park as her biggest rival, while Lee Chan-won teased, “It’s a stage he has never shown before,” heightening anticipation.
Song selections are equally compelling. Kim Soo-chan chose Seol Woon-do’s “Compass,” while Park Seo-jin selected “Lost 30 Years,” both embracing traditional trot roots. Jadu will shift the mood with Enoch’s “Tonight,” and D82 will stir emotions with “Violet Postcard.” Kim So-hyang and Yoon Hyung-ryeol plan to reinterpret Lim Young-woong’s “My Love Like the Starlight” with musical flair.
The highlight will be Seol Woon-do’s special stage. He is set to personally perform “I Love You,” the song he once gifted to Lim Young-woong, drawing thunderous applause from the audience.
The “Artist Seol Woon-do” special airs over two weeks, with Part 2 broadcasting on February 28.
