“Miss Trot 4” has once again set a new season high in viewership, intensifying momentum ahead of its final round as the TOP5 lineup is officially confirmed.
According to Nielsen Korea on February 27, the semifinal broadcast on February 26 recorded a nationwide rating of 16.4 percent. The figure marks a 1.7 percentage point increase from the previous episode and stands as the highest rating of the season. The peak rating reached 17.7 percent. The show has now ranked No. 1 in its time slot for 11 consecutive weeks, leading not only Thursday entertainment programs but all variety shows across channels.
This season compressed the competition from the traditional TOP7 format to a tighter TOP5 structure, raising the stakes significantly. Ten contestants advanced to the semifinals out of 88 teams. Real-time text voting, previously reserved for the finale, was introduced in this round. Out of a total possible 2,500 points, 500 were allocated to live text votes, keeping the outcome unpredictable until the final tally.
The episode also unveiled the TOP5 winner’s special song “Holryeora,” written and composed by Jang Yoonjung. The joint performance by all semifinalists delivered a memorable stage and heightened anticipation for the finale.
The semifinal mission, titled “Traditional Trot Showdown,” combined 1,600 master judge points, 200 on-site national representative points, 200 online support vote points, and 500 real-time text vote points. Public participation proved to be a decisive variable in the final rankings.
Hur Chanmi performed Kim Sangbae’s “Andwaeyo Andwae,” earning perfect 100-point scores from all ten masters for a total of 1,585 master points. With strong support in text voting, she secured first place in the semifinals with 2,406 points. Lee Sona delivered an emotional rendition of Joo Byeongseon’s “Chilgapsan,” rising from fourth in the interim ranking to second overall with 2,365.92 points. Hong Seongyun performed Jo Hangjo’s “Jeongnyeong,” climbing from sixth to finish third with 2,326 points. Yoon Taehwa sang Na Hoon-a’s “Mangmo,” placing fourth with 2,231.69 points, while Gil Ryeowon performed Jin Sung’s “Naega Baboya” to secure fifth place with 2,208.10 points and complete the TOP5 lineup.
Yoon Yunseo, Yeom Yuri, Lee Elliya, Kim Sanha, and Yumi were eliminated before the final round. The semifinal text voting recorded a total of 1,029,169 votes, with 858,328 valid votes counted, reflecting the program’s strong viewer engagement.
With the finale now ahead, attention turns to who will claim the title of Jin and emerge as the new champion.
