tvN’s Wednesday-Thursday drama “Our Universe” is drawing smiles from viewers as it moves seamlessly between charming childcare episodes and fluttering romance. The chaotic daily life created by a rookie uncle and his unpredictable 20-month-old niece delivers both laughter and heartfelt healing.
On the 24th, behind-the-scenes stills released by the production team captured Bae In-hyuk, who plays uncle Seon Tae-hyung, alongside child actor Park Yu-ho as Seon Woo-joo on set. Their natural rapport off camera hints at the warm chemistry seen in the drama. Throughout filming, Bae attentively matched the child’s eye level, creating a tender atmosphere, while Park charmed the set with his expressive reactions and quick wit.
The drama centers on the cohabitation romance between Seon Tae-hyung and Woo Hyun-jin, played by Roh Jeong-eui, who are connected through in-laws. After becoming aware of their feelings for each other, a subtle tension lingers between them. The dynamic intensifies as Hyun-jin’s first love, Park Yoon-sung, portrayed by Park Seoham, boldly makes his move, shaping a light yet heart-tugging love triangle.
Yet another central figure in the story is undeniably Seon Woo-joo. Suddenly becoming a guardian, Tae-hyung stumbles through the realities of childcare, but gradually grows through his sincere affection for Woo-joo. What begins as shared childcare within the “Woo-joo household” unfolds through a series of unexpected variables, deepening the bonds among the characters.
In newly released images, Tae-hyung is seen offering chocolate to comfort his niece. Once overwhelmed with confusion when they first met at a funeral, he has now transformed into a devoted guardian striving to protect the child’s smile. The warmth in his gaze as he walks her to daycare conveys layered emotions. Through subtle shifts in expression and nuanced eye work, Bae In-hyuk convincingly portrays the character’s inner growth, heightening immersion.
The production team stated, “The synergy created by Bae In-hyuk, Roh Jeong-eui, and Park Yu-ho firmly supports the emotional core of the drama,” adding, “An unexpected character will join the ‘Universe Family’ in the latter half, marking another turning point.” They further hinted, “Episodes 7 and 8 airing this week will bring a new breeze to the characters’ relationships,” raising anticipation.
