BTS will bring the opening of their new world tour directly to theaters worldwide, extending the scale of their global comeback beyond digital streaming platforms.
On Feb. 13, BigHit Music announced that the opening performances of BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ in Goyang on April 11 and Tokyo on April 18 will be broadcast globally through Live Viewing. The screenings will allow fans across continents to experience the concerts simultaneously in cinemas.
The live viewing will be held in more than 3,500 theaters across 75 countries and regions, with additional screenings expected to expand sequentially, including delayed broadcasts depending on time zones. In South Korea, the event will be available through the country’s three major multiplex chains CGV, Lotte Cinema, and Megabox, with ticket reservations opening at 10 a.m. on Feb. 25.
This initiative follows BTS’s recent comeback showcase broadcast live on Netflix and further strengthens their hybrid online and offline engagement strategy. The tour itself spans 34 cities and 82 shows, marking one of the group’s most ambitious global concert runs. By enabling real-time participation across theaters, BTS aims to amplify the tour’s momentum and maintain global fan engagement at scale.
The live viewing is also expected to resonate strongly with fans who were unable to secure concert tickets. BTS has already demonstrated overwhelming demand, with 41 shows across North America and Europe sold out, historic entry into Munich’s Allianz Arena as the first Korean act, and record-breaking attendance rates at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The intense ticket demand is now anticipated to extend into theaters worldwide.
Meanwhile, BTS will release their fifth full-length album ARIRANG on March 20 at 1 p.m. Alongside the release, the group will launch BTS THE CITY ARIRANG SEOUL, an urban experience project that will run across Seoul through April 12.
