Gen Z icon group KiiiKiii showcased their instinctive sense of shared fun with fans through a self-produced music video created entirely by the members.
On February 6, Starship Entertainment unexpectedly released a special music video for the mini album title track “404 (New Era)” via its official YouTube channel. Titled “(No re-upload) We filmed our own ‘404 (New Era)’ MV lol KiiiKiii,” the video is composed solely of footage shot by the members themselves.
Using selfie-style camera angles, intentionally rough image quality, and logo designs reminiscent of early webcam interfaces, the members recreated a Y2K aesthetic. The visual approach aligns with the song’s message, which reinterprets “404 Not Found” as freedom without fixed coordinates, amplifying KiiiKiii’s signature free-spirited energy.
The release of the special music video also serves as a response to the overwhelming global support reflected on major music charts. By presenting a video filled with their own bright and playful energy, the group offered fans another layer of enjoyment in return for their support.
The momentum of “404 (New Era)” continues to accelerate. As of 9 a.m. on February 7, the track reached No. 5 on the Melon Top 100, marking the group’s personal best. It also topped real-time and daily charts on Bugs, as well as No. 1 on Spotify Korea and Apple Music. Notably, the song has held the top spot on Apple Music’s popularity chart for nine consecutive days, signaling near-syndromic popularity.
Meanwhile, KiiiKiii members Jiyu, Isol, Sui, Haeum, and Kiya are set to appear on MBC’s “Show! Music Core” on February 7, where they will perform “404 (New Era)” amid its rising momentum.
