Actress Park Soo-young, also known as Joy of Red Velvet, will take on the role of a job seeker who resonates with everyday reality through the drama ‘One-of-a-Kind Romance.’
On Feb. 4, SM Entertainment announced that Park has been cast as the lead character Gong Yoo-il in the new series ‘One-of-a-Kind Romance,’ produced by Corpus Korea and directed by Kim Jin-young with a script by Jeon Hyun-mi.
Based on the popular Naver webtoon of the same title, the series tells the story of a romance between top star Tak Moo-yi, who hides the trauma of stalking, and Gong Yoo-il, a job seeker who unexpectedly becomes his manager.
Gong Yoo-il is described as a warm and harmless personality. After crossing paths with a top celebrity in her ordinary life, she becomes closely entangled with him, driving the drama’s emotional tension and heart-fluttering moments.
Park is reportedly focusing on increasing character synchronization through both a short-hair transformation and her signature bright energy. Having broadened her acting spectrum through works such as ‘Only One Person’ and ‘Once Upon a Small Town,’ anticipation is rising for another new acting turn in this project.
