BLACKPINK has added yet another landmark to its record-breaking career, reaffirming its reputation as YouTube royalty ahead of its long-awaited comeback.
According to YG Entertainment on February 2, the music video for “As If It’s Your Last” surpassed 1.5 billion views on YouTube at around 2:57 a.m. KST. The achievement comes roughly eight years and seven months after the video’s release in June 2017, underscoring the group’s steady global reach over time.
The milestone marks BLACKPINK’s fifth video to exceed 1.5 billion views, following “DDU-DU DDU-DU” with 2.3 billion, “Kill This Love” with 2.1 billion, “Boombayah” with 1.8 billion, and the “How You Like That” dance performance video with 1.9 billion. Each title continues to draw new audiences years after release, highlighting the group’s long-tail streaming power.
Industry observers attribute the performance to BLACKPINK’s formidable digital presence, backed by approximately 99.7 million YouTube subscribers and more than 41.1 billion cumulative channel views. Their recent world tour across 16 cities and 33 shows further strengthened engagement with global fans, fueling sustained traffic to the group’s earlier hits.
The timing is especially notable as the quartet prepares to return with its first full-group album in three years and five months. Expectations are rising for the new release, “DEADLINE,” which is widely projected to deliver another wave of international success.
BLACKPINK is set to release its third mini album “DEADLINE” at 2 p.m. KST on the 27th.
