The destinies of Nam Ji-hyun and Moon Sang-min twisted once more as their souls switched bodies again, casting a darker shadow over what had been a tender romance. Love and tragedy collided, sending both characters into an emotional spiral.
Episode 10 of To My Beloved Thief, which aired on Feb. 1 on KBS2, depicted Hong Eun-jo collapsing in grief after losing her father and Crown Prince Dowol Lee Yeol risking everything to protect her. The broadcast recorded a nationwide rating of 7 percent, peaking at 7.6 percent during Lee Yeol’s tense confrontation with King Lee Gyu, underscoring the episode’s explosive intensity.
Enraged after learning that the arrow lodged in her father’s back belonged to the king, Eun-jo lost control. In a moment of raw fury, she pulled out the very arrow that killed him and fired it at Lee Gyu.
At the same time, Lee Yeol rushed to find her after hearing the news, only to discover she had vanished. Sensing danger when he learned the king’s arrow had gone missing, he hurried to the palace and ultimately took Eun-jo’s shot himself, once again shielding her with his own body.
Although the king survived thanks to Lee Yeol’s sacrifice, suspicion from the royal investigation office soon fell on Eun-jo’s family. Still recovering from his wounds, Lee Yeol joined forces with Im Jae-yi to clear her name, and their desperate cooperation narrowly saved her from arrest.
Guilt weighed heavily on Eun-jo. Realizing Lee Yeol had been struck by the arrow meant for the king, she broke down in tears, recalling her father’s final lesson to protect others. In quiet comfort, Lee Yeol guided her hand to his chest and said softly, “See, it’s beating.” The simple gesture and steady heartbeat delivered a wordless reassurance that left viewers shaken.
But tragedy refused to relent. A mysterious group appeared before Eun-jo, all victims who had lost loved ones to King Lee Gyu. Knowing her identity as “Gildong,” they proposed replacing the ruler of the throne and asked her to stand as the people’s symbol of resistance. Torn between vengeance and responsibility, Eun-jo faced another impossible choice.
As if that were not enough, Lee Gyu regained consciousness and immediately accused Hong Dae-il of the assassination attempt. When Lee Yeol confronted the king, a blade was pressed to his throat, pushing tensions to the brink.
Then came the decisive moment. Their souls switched again. Eun-jo awoke inside Lee Yeol’s body, standing face-to-face with the man who killed her father. Her icy glare and barely contained rage signaled that the story had entered its most dangerous turn yet.
What consequences will this second soul swap bring. The crossroads of revenge, love and fate will continue in Episode 11, airing Feb. 7 at 9:20 p.m.
