Park Shin-hye’s undercover mission is nearing collapse.
In Episode 5 of Undercover Miss Hong, which aired on Jan. 31, Hong Geum-bo found herself trapped under pressure from every direction while tracking the internal whistleblower known as “Yeppi.” The sudden arrival of a new resident in Dorm Room 301 only deepened the instability. The episode recorded a 6.1 percent average rating in the Seoul metro area with a peak of 7.2 percent, while also topping the 20 to 49 demographic in its time slot.
The person who upended the dormitory was revealed to be Kim Bom, the young daughter of Kim Mi-sook. After secretly bringing the child back from an orphanage, the roommates were left stunned. Go Bok-hee and Kang Nora offered to let her stay, but Geum-bo objected firmly. Still, as the child prepared to leave, Geum-bo quietly admitted, “It’s not because I hate you,” exposing a softer and more human side beneath her hardened resolve.
Meanwhile, rumors spread that the whistleblower inside Hanmin Securities was one of the trio nicknamed “So-Bang-Cha.” A surprise audit followed. Although all three denied wrongdoing, suspicions intensified when Bang Jin-mok was revealed to have handled an accounting fraud case nine years earlier. Even Geum-bo began to lose confidence, and the true identity of “Yeppi” slipped further into uncertainty.
The biggest threat, however, came from Shin Jung-woo. He had already discovered that Geum-bo infiltrated the company under the alias Hong Jang-mi and was hunting for the whistleblower. By accepting a strategic blind date with Chairman Kang’s daughter, he edged closer to the center of corporate power. Whether he plans to protect Geum-bo or use her secret for his own gain remains unclear, amplifying the suspense.
By the end of the episode, Kim Bom officially joined Room 301, expanding the household from four to five. Bonds appeared to strengthen, but Geum-bo’s position grew more precarious both inside and outside the company. A lingering glance from executive secretary Song Ju-ran delivered yet another cliffhanger, signaling that a new crisis is imminent.
Episode 6, airing tonight at 9:10 p.m., will follow Bok-hee after she obtains a hidden slush fund ledger, while Geum-bo begins to uncover her concealed past. With Jung-woo’s suspicions hardening into certainty, another fierce wave is set to crash down on the undercover investigator.
