Three unlikely companions step out of the mountains and into the human world, hinting at a rare moment of warmth before destiny takes another sharp turn.
Ahead of Episode 6, production unveiled stills of Palmiho, Eun-ho, and Kang Si-yeol spending a day at an amusement park. For a fox spirit who has lived in seclusion for 500 years, the trip marks what appears to be a first taste of freedom, raising anticipation over the ripple effects this small “escape” might bring.
Previously, Eun-ho and Kang Si-yeol climbed the mountain in search of a gumiho, only to encounter an unexpected being who had yet to fully transform. With eight tails and a face strikingly similar to Geum-ho, the half-formed “Palmiho” stirred a flood of emotions in Eun-ho, from relief to longing and guilt, leaving viewers equally shaken.
Tension escalated further with the arrival of Hyun Woo-seok. Visiting Kang Si-yeol with a late apology, he made a cryptic request for “just one more week.” When he realized Eun-ho had become human, desire flickered again in his eyes, tangling their already complicated relationships.
The newly released amusement park stills flip the mood entirely. Palmiho beams with excitement, Kang Si-yeol watches him with quiet fondness, while Eun-ho’s visibly displeased look creates playful contrast. In particular, Eun-ho wearing a headband and holding an oversized teddy bear with a deadpan expression delivers an unexpected comic charm.
Most notably, the episode introduces a decisive proposal that could overturn all three fates. According to the production team, Palmiho suggests that once he becomes a true gumiho, he will set right the twisted destinies of Eun-ho and Kang Si-yeol. It marks both a gamble with destiny and the beginning of a dangerous alliance.
The team added that beneath the lighthearted amusement park moments lie key foreshadowing and crucial choices, urging viewers to watch closely until the end.
Episode 6 airs January 31 at 9:50 p.m.
