“Running Man” unleashes full-blown chaos as Kim Jong-kook and Song Ji-hyo dive deep into their on-screen personas during a high-stakes forbidden-word survival race.
In the February 1 episode, the cast competes under the concept of an “age notice survival,” battling to avoid becoming the first elimination through quick wit and psychological tactics.
The core mission centers on an upgraded version of the “Yang Se-chan Game.” Members must carry out randomized role-play assignments while carefully avoiding designated forbidden words. Yang Se-chan, cast as a secretary, struggles with the banned word “boss,” while Ji Ye-eun, playing a foreign buyer, keeps the set laughing with deliberately awkward, improvised Chinese.
Kim Jong-kook, transforming into an “MZ overseas intern,” boldly points at Yoo Jae-suk to provoke him into saying the trigger word, creating an unexpected power play. Meanwhile, Song Ji-hyo repeatedly blurts out her own forbidden term, summoning her notorious “Bad Ji-hyo” alter ego and pushing the set into complete disorder.
Amid the confusion, attention turns to which member will demonstrate the sharpest instincts and survive the longest.
The show airs every Sunday at 6:10 p.m. on SBS.
