Jin Se-yeon and Park Ki-woong set an emotionally charged tone from the very first episode, promising a delicate balance of romance and tension in KBS2’s new weekend drama Recipe For Love, which premieres tonight, January 31.
The series follows two families bound by a bitter feud spanning three decades. As long-standing misunderstandings begin to unravel, old wounds resurface and slowly heal, guiding the characters toward reconciliation and the possibility of becoming one family. At the heart of the story lies a romance shaped by fate, memory, and inherited resentment.
Ahead of the premiere, newly released stills capture the momentous reunion between Gong Joo-ah, portrayed by Jin Se-yeon, and Yang Hyun-bin, played by Park Ki-woong. Once each other’s first love in childhood, the two cross paths again years later. Whether they will recognize one another, and why fate has drawn them back together, immediately sparks intrigue. The subtle tension between them, poised between anticipation and restraint, leaves a striking impression from the opening episode.
In the drama, Gong Joo-ah is a fashion designer known for her sharp professionalism at work, yet she reveals an unexpectedly pure and sincere side when it comes to love. Viewers are left wondering how her presence will awaken Hyun-bin’s long-buried memories of first love.
Another still shows Hyun-bin gazing at Joo-ah with eyes filled with warmth, surprise, and emotions too complex to name. Beneath their reunion, however, lies the deep-rooted hostility between their families, a legacy of conflict that has endured for 30 years. The weight behind his expression hints at the story yet to unfold.
The production team stated, “From episode one, viewers will witness the extraordinary first encounter between Gong Joo-ah and Yang Hyun-bin,” adding, “Their fated reunion will create ripples throughout the story, delivering a modern-day Romeo and Juliet-style romance that we believe will strongly resonate with audiences.” They also emphasized that the richly drawn characters from both families will add depth and enjoyment beyond the central romance.
Recipe For Love airs its first episode tonight at 8 p.m. on KBS2.
