‘Show Me The Money 12,’ which claimed the No.1 spot in buzz rankings immediately after its premiere, is set to raise the heat of competition with the launch of its signature “60-second rap evaluation” and the large-scale appearance of global rappers.
Episode 2, airing at 9:20 p.m. on the 22nd on Mnet, will unveil the full scope of the global auditions that gathered top talents from 32 regions worldwide, along with the second preliminary round titled the “60-Second Team Rapper Selection.”
The “Global Auditions,” following the intensity of the first round, will feature an unprecedented lineup of well-known contenders. These include Minami, a dancer from the winning crew of World of Street Woman Fighter, Hong Kong hip-hop legend JB, Japanese newcomer Red Eye, Thai superstar MILLI, and Korean-American rapper Flowsik. All of them will undergo a cappella rap evaluations, further heightening the tension.
On site, it has been said that the competition level is so high that “Korean rappers should be on edge,” reflecting the exceptional caliber of the participants.
At the same time, the show’s signature mission, the second preliminary round known as the “60-Second Team Rapper Selection,” officially begins. All four producer teams will participate in this mission, which follows a ruthless rule: anyone who fails to prove their skills within 60 seconds is eliminated amid rising pillars of fire.
In the previously released preview, performances by HAON, the winner of High School Rapper 2, along with Microdot, Oxynova, Viceversa, CHABOOM, and Erohan were teased, drawing attention to their survival prospects. The participation of BLASTA, also known as Jung Sang-soo, is another major point to watch. The production team has promised a dramatic storyline where all-pass stages and shocking eliminations will intersect.
This full-scale rapper battle is expected to become a major turning point in the program’s momentum. Since its premiere on the 15th, the show has ranked No.1 in Good Data Corporation’s FUNdex TV buzz chart for the third week of January, No.1 in TVING’s real-time viewing UV, and has recorded 230 million cumulative views across social media platforms.
Meanwhile, ‘Show Me The Money 12’ airs at 9:20 p.m. on Mnet and TVING. The TVING original spin-off, ‘The World of Yacha,’ is released exclusively every Saturday at noon on TVING.
