I’m SOLO once again left a deep impression by giving birth to a real-life couple and even a married couple.
In the episode aired on January 21 on the SBS Plus and ENA reality dating program I’m SOLO, the final selections of Season 29, themed the “Older Woman, Younger Man Special,” were revealed.
On the night, Young-soo and Ok-soon, as well as Young-cheol and Jeong-suk, became the final couples. In particular, it was announced that Young-cheol and Jeong-suk had already registered their marriage and were planning to hold their wedding ceremony this April, heating up the atmosphere in living rooms nationwide.
On the last night at “Solo Nation No. 29,” Young-cheol and Jeong-suk confirmed their feelings for each other in a more relaxed and comfortable mood. When Jeong-suk said, “My dad had a 10 p.m. curfew for me,” Young-cheol laughed and replied, “That kind of curfew is a luxury.” The two naturally matched each other’s rhythm. Jeong-suk admitted, “I feel comfortable when I’m with Young-cheol,” but also confessed, “If he is too conservative, I worry whether I will be able to breathe.” In response, Young-cheol said, “It feels like Jeong-suk embraced me when I was completely a mess,” revealing how his feelings had completely changed.
Young-soo pursued Ok-soon with unwavering sincerity until the end. He said, “If you take just 10 steps toward me, I will take the remaining 90,” expressing his devotion. At the final selection, he held up a sketchbook and confessed, “The place where my heart stays is always with you.” Touched, Ok-soon chose Young-soo, making them the first final couple of Season 29. Young-soo vowed, “I will do my best so that Ok-soon can smile and cry happily.” Ok-soon responded with a bright smile, saying, “There are many beautiful women in their 20s, but there is no one like me who has intelligence, beauty, and wisdom all together.”
At dawn, Young-sik’s sincerity moved viewers to tears. He woke up at 5 a.m., cleaned the common living room, and cooked kimchi stew, filling the six days with his devotion. When no one came out, he burst into tears from disappointment. Seeing this, Young-sook comforted him warmly, saying, “At such a young age, coming all the way here alone, how lonely must you have been. You tried the hardest.” Young-sik eventually broke down in tears, unable to contain his emotions.
At the moment of final selection, Young-cheol said to Jeong-suk, “I found someone I want to block all the arrows of life for,” and chose her without hesitation. After careful thought, Jeong-suk also chose Young-cheol, and they became the second final couple. In an interview, Young-cheol said, “I met a precious person. I want to protect her even at the cost of my life. I will do my best,” leaving a deep impression.
After all the journeys ended, the production team revealed the wedding photos of Young-cheol and Jeong-suk. As the couple advanced from a “final couple” to a “real-life couple” and now to marriage, the three MCs, Defconn, Lee Yi-kyung, and Song Hae-na, applauded and sent their warm support.
Having delivered deep emotion through the “Older Woman, Younger Man Special,” I’m SOLO will return next week with the “Egen Man, Teto Woman Special” of Season 30. The SBS Plus and ENA co-produced program I’m SOLO airs every Wednesday at 10:30 p.m.
