Actress Keum Sae-rok returns as the “charging prosecutor” Cha I-yeon.
The eight-episode Disney+ series Bloody Flower is a mystery thriller that depicts the lives of people surrounding a serial killer who possesses the ability to cure all incurable diseases.
After rising to prominence through The Fiery Priest, Keum Sae-rok has steadily built public trust with her strong screen presence. She has earned praise for her delicate emotional acting and realistic character portrayals in works such as Youth of May, The Interest of Love, and Soundtrack #2. In particular, her leading role in Ironing Family firmly established her position as an actress.
In Bloody Flower, Keum Sae-rok portrays prosecutor Cha I-yeon, a character who embodies both cool-headed judgment and inner instability. Through this role, she balances resolute charisma with subtle psychological shifts. Cha I-yeon takes on a serial murder case that everyone else avoids, viewing it as an opportunity to solidify her unique standing as a prosecutor. Determined to prove the serial killer Lee Woo-gyeom’s claims false, she stops at nothing to win. However, as the trial progresses, she is forced to confront the unsettling possibility that his healing powers may be real, bringing her own convictions into direct conflict.
