Lee Joo-bin is set to make an unexpected choice in front of Ahn Bo-hyun.
In episode 5 of tvN’s Spring Fever, airing on the 19th, emotions collide head-on between Seon Jae-gyu (played by Ahn Bo-hyun) and Yoon Bom (played by Lee Joo-bin) against the backdrop of the Shinsu High School Sports Day, the biggest annual event in Shinsu-eup. Ahead of the competition, Seon Jae-gyu, Yoon Bom, Choi Yi-jun (Cha Seo-won), Seon Han-gyeol (Jo Jun-young), and Choi Se-jin (Lee Jae-in) gather in one place, sending tensions even higher.
Previously, Yoon Bom had begun to open her heart to the straightforward and passionate Seon Jae-gyu, stirring excitement, but ultimately chose to draw a line when confronted with the reality that he is the guardian of her student. Then comes the Shinsu High School Sports Day. Seon Jae-gyu and Choi Yi-jun are appointed as representatives of the White Team and the Blue Team respectively, and it is revealed that Yoon Bom belongs to the White Team, setting up a tense ending.
The newly released stills show the sports day turning into a whirlwind of emotions. As the White Team continues to fall behind without Seon Jae-gyu, Yoon Bom makes a drastic decision. She is even seen dropping to her knees in front of him, raising anticipation over whether she can move his heart once again.
However, Seon Jae-gyu’s feelings are far from simple. Having promised Seon Han-gyeol that he would help the Blue Team win, he finds himself torn between Yoon Bom and his nephew. Whether he will reverse his decision not to compete, and whether he can fulfill Yoon Bom’s wish by placing a medal around their dog Bomsik’s neck, emerge as the key points to watch in episode 5.
The fiery rivalry with his nemesis Choi Yi-jun also adds to the fun. Seon Jae-gyu boldly declares, “If I enter the sports day, I’ll serve in the army one more time. And for the rest of my life, you’ll have to call me ‘honey,’” hinting at plenty of laughter. Viewers are left wondering whether that playful nickname will actually become reality.
A fresh and youthful storyline unfolds as well. Throughout the sports day, Seon Han-gyeol keeps his eyes fixed on Choi Se-jin, doing everything he can just to see her smile. Their subtle emotional tension is expected to add a warm and gentle touch to the episode.
The production team commented, “Episode 5 will feature a cute and lovable series of small-scale comedic incidents set during the sports day,” adding, “Please look forward to the cozy charm and bustling episodes unique to a small seaside town.”
Meanwhile, Spring Fever continues its global success, ranking in the Top 10 of Amazon Prime Video’s ‘TV Shows’ category for two consecutive weeks according to FlixPatrol. It has entered the Top 10 in a total of 48 countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom, and reached No. 1 in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand.
