The Lee Soo-man–produced girl group A2O MAY has further strengthened its position as a global rookie by adding a prestigious Chinese music industry award to its growing list of achievements.
According to A2O Entertainment on January 19, A2O MAY (CHENYU, SHIJIE, QUCHANG, MICHE, and KAT) won the “Emerging Musician of the Year” award at the 2025–2026 Music Business Industry Awards (MBIA), held on January 17 in Beijing, China.
This marks the group’s fourth rookie award, following honors from the Weibo Music Awards 2025, the 2025 Asian Hall of Fame, and Weibo’s “Night of Competition.” In particular, their recognition at MBIA, jointly hosted by China’s leading music economy publication China Music Finance and the major platform Weibo, is seen as clear evidence of their firm foothold in the Chinese market.
Their success is also backed by strong global momentum beyond China. Last year, A2O MAY drew major attention when their EP PAPARAZZI ARRIVE topped the U.S. Mediabase radio chart jointly with Justin Bieber. They have since completed performances at the U.S. Jingle Ball pre-show and successfully held a fan meeting in Shanghai, steadily building meaningful global indicators from the early stages of their debut.
The members shared, “This honor is thanks to Lee Soo-man, our staff, and our fandom MAYnia,” adding, “Starting with our first award of the year, we will continue to grow and show even better performances.”
