On the afternoon of the 14th, her agency ATRP surprised fans by unveiling the music video for “Canary,” a track from CHUU’s first full-length album XO, My Cyberlove, through its official SNS channels.
The released video is structured as a spin-off of the album’s title track. The production blends CHUU’s delicate facial expressions as she learns the emotions of love with a pink-toned color palette, visually maximizing the song’s romantic and dreamlike mood.
“Canary” stands out as a track in which CHUU attempts a new vocal approach. Beginning softly with piano and building into a powerful wave of sound driven by electric guitar, she fully delivers what she described in interviews as her “favorite pop vocal tone” and a “singing style that feels like crying out to protect something,” heightening the song’s emotional immersion.
Although her lyrics were not ultimately selected, the fact that she personally attempted to write them reflects her deep affection for the song. The emotionally charged voice completed through this process reveals the expanded musical spectrum of “artist CHUU.”
