Kim Hyung-mook and So Yi-hyun are set to leave a powerful impression as a “secret couple” caught between love and ambition in KBS 2TV’s new weekend drama Recipe For Love.
Premiering on the 31st, Recipe For Love is a family makeover drama that follows two families entangled in a bitter feud for 30 years as they overcome misunderstandings and wounds to ultimately become one. By weaving together a warm family narrative with fierce desires and fractured relationships, the series aims to captivate weekend viewers.
In the stills released on the 12th, Kim Hyung-mook and So Yi-hyun appear as a couple with an extraordinary aura, immediately drawing attention. Their restrained smiles and subtle tension reveal a relationship far from ordinary. In the glances they exchange, calculation and alliance coexist in a delicate balance.
Kim Hyung-mook plays Yang Dong-ik, a Korean medicine doctor who builds a popular and sophisticated clinic brand. Outwardly gentle and rational, he conceals an inner desire for success and control. So Yi-hyun takes on the role of his second wife, Cha Se-ri, portraying both the cold composure and sharp ambition of a woman who has secured her place among the powerful.
In the drama, the two join forces under the shared objective of confronting the rival Gong family. Bound by marriage yet connected purely by interests, they form a precarious alliance, using and relying on each other. While they appear to be the perfect couple on the surface, their relationship is constantly shaken by clashing emotions and desires.
The dynamic between Yang Dong-ik, who struggles with emotional expression, and Cha Se-ri, who designs every detail to turn him into a “man worthy of respect,” becomes another major tension point. Their relationship, where devotion and calculation, love and ambition intertwine, expands beyond a simple marital story into a drama of power and desire.
The production team stated, “The seasoned acting chemistry between Kim Hyung-mook and So Yi-hyun elevates the density of the drama,” adding, “The unpredictable developments that unfold as they become entangled with the Gong family will provide viewers with an intense sense of immersion.”
KBS 2TV’s new weekend drama Recipe For Love, which showcases the dangerous cooperation and thrilling marital chemistry of Kim Hyung-mook and So Yi-hyun, will premiere on the 31st at 8 p.m.
