MBN’s Run to Live Season 2 hints at relationship dynamics that may be even more heart-pounding than running itself.

In episode 7, airing Monday, January 12 at 9:50 p.m., the “MBN Seoul Marathon” will unfold under the slogan “Run Together, Value Together.” The Run to Live crew will team up with their respective running partners for a meaningful “10 km partner run,” showcasing new and unexpected chemistry.

The pairing drawing the most attention is undoubtedly Lee Gi-kwang and Jung Hye-in. Both born in 1990, the two set out as one team while activating their “becoming best friends project.” Dressed in grim reaper-inspired outfits matching the “Saja Boyz” concept from K-Pop Demon Hunters, their passionate preparation immediately captures attention.

However, the atmosphere at the starting line is unexpectedly awkward. Lee Gi-kwang admits, “We’ve filmed together a few times, but we’ve barely had a proper conversation,” revealing subtle tension. In the early part of the race, their dialogue struggles to flow. Then Lee Gi-kwang brings up the sensitive topic of being a “fast ’90 liner,” and the mood suddenly shifts.

Without hesitation, Jung Hye-in responds coolly, saying, “I like looking younger since I have a mature face,” and takes the initiative to call him “oppa.” She even suggests, “Let’s just speak casually,” breaking the ice. As they continue running, their distance rapidly closes, raising curiosity about whether they can transform from “awkward colleagues” into “comfortable friends” over the course of 10 kilometers.

Meanwhile, another partner team, Ko Han-min and Jun Bae-su, takes charge of the comedy from the start. Appearing in matching “Men in Black” suits, they instantly draw laughter. Shortly after, Jun Bae-su delivers an unexpectedly honest confession: “I can’t really see my watch because of my presbyopia,” sending the set into fits of laughter. He adds, “I thought it’d be embarrassing to run in a suit, but nobody even cares,” completing their genuine best-friend chemistry.

As relationships grow closer through running and laughter blends with sincerity, viewers are eager to see whether Lee Gi-kwang and Jung Hye-in’s “best friends project” will succeed, and what kind of humor Ko Han-min and Jun Bae-su’s race will deliver. The answers will be revealed on the January 12 broadcast of Run to Live Season 2.
