Cirque du Soleil’s KOOZA successfully concluded its Korean run, carrying strong box office momentum from Busan to Seoul and completing an 18-week tour to enthusiastic acclaim.
KOOZA wrapped up its Seoul performances on December 28, marking the end of an 18-week journey. Since opening on October 11, the production staged 96 performances over 11 weeks and surpassed a cumulative audience of 250,000, firmly establishing itself as a dominant force in the year-end live performance market.
Its commercial performance was equally impressive. KOOZA ranked No. 1 in monthly sales across major ticketing platforms, proving its status as a steady-selling production. On YES24, it ranked No. 1 in the annual December rankings within the live performance category, once again winning over Korean audiences following its success in 2018. In the final two weeks of December, every performance sold out all 2,500 seats, prompting the additional release of limited-view seats in a rare box office phenomenon.
KOOZA has been praised for maximizing the essence of circus performance. Extreme acrobatic acts such as high wire, teeterboard, and the Wheel of Death were combined with wit, live music, and striking stage aesthetics, captivating audiences of all ages. Word of mouth spread rapidly, with spectators calling it “a once-in-a-lifetime performance” and “a circus you must see before you die.”
The Busan run also delivered meaningful results. The Big Top installed in the heart of Centum City emerged as a new urban landmark, while the beer garden and interactive experiences created a festival-style performance culture that extended beyond the show itself. The large-scale production, aligned with the summer season, drew enthusiastic responses from audiences across generations.
The Seoul performances marked KOOZA’s return after seven years since its 2018 success, generating high expectations even before opening. Audiences who had missed the earlier run, along with devoted repeat viewers, flocked to the venue, positioning the show as a representative year-end production and attracting a broad demographic ranging from families and couples to dedicated performance enthusiasts.
Mast International, the presenter of the production, stated, “Through KOOZA, which we presented again after seven years, we were able to reconfirm the passionate support of audiences in Busan and Seoul.” The company added, “This season was particularly meaningful as we directly led the Asian tour, extending beyond Korea to Hong Kong and Singapore.” It also noted that the next Cirque du Soleil touring production is scheduled for 2027.
Meanwhile, Cirque du Soleil’s KOOZA will continue its Asian tour in Singapore, opening on February 6, 2026, at the Big Top located within the Bayfront Event Space.
